Mother Nature providing a little late night wake up call across parts of Central Alabama early this morning in the form of noisy thunderstorms across northeastern Jefferson County.
Awakened by sharp lightning and loud thunder in Trussville just a few minutes ago.
Storms were jumping to life across northeastern Tuscaloosa County as well and over Hale and Perry Counties.
The Tuscaloosa County storms will probably affect other parts of the Birmingham Metro. The Hale/Perry storms could move toward Bibb and Selby Counties and points northeast.
Nothing severe at this time, although brief heavy rain (no one is complaining) and sharp lightning will accompany the stronger cells. Gusty winds will develop with the grown up storms as well.
The storms are forming ahead of a trough of low pressure that is just near the Mississippi River this morning.
