Economic development has taken to the skies and the seas in Mobile, but the key may be in the groundwork.
The metro area has racked up a series of big wins in economic development in part because of assets like the Port of Mobile and the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley.
The latter has helped it land a number of aerospace projects – most notably the first U.S. Airbus assembly plant. The former was instrumental in Mobile’s most recent big announcement – a $135 million Walmart import distribution facility.But the secret sauce is Team Mobile.
