A CLEARING SKY: Clouds this morning over North Alabama will give way to a sunny afternoon as dry air returns to the state; we project a high in the mid 60s this afternoon, a little below the average high of 70 fo March 30. Tonight will be clear and rather cool; most places will see a low near 40 degrees early tomorrow, but colder pockets will drop into the mid 30s with a chance of some scattered light frost.
EASTER WEEKEND: With sunshine in full force, we warm nicely during the day tomorrow; the high will be in the low 70s. Then, on Easter Sunday, mostly sunny weather continues with a high in the upper 70s.
NEXT WEEK: Monday will be warm and dry with a partly sunny sky; the high will be close to 80 degrees. The daytime hours Tuesday will stay dry, but clouds increase by afternoon, and rain will enter our state Tuesday night ahead of a cold front. We will forecast a good chance of rain at times, and possibly a few thunderstorms into Wednesday morning; for now the severe weather risk looks low, and rain amounts should be in the 1/2 to 1 inch range.
Wednesday will be cooler… some North Alabama communities could hold in the 50s all day. The sky clears Wednesday night, and we could see some frost early Thursday morning as temperatures drop into the mid to upper 30s. Thursday will be dry; global models hint some rain could return Friday. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
