The center of the eye of Hurricane Michael is crossing the coast right now between Tyndall AFB and Mexico Beach, Florida.
Winds just gusted to 119 mph at Tyndall AFB.
The anemometer failed at Apalachicola’s Airport with an 82 mph gust, so no more reports.
The surge at Apalachicola is now at 8 feet. There is now extensive inundation there.

A strong, dry cold front pushed through Alabama yesterday, and much cooler drier air been filtering into the state throughout the night. This weekend will feature highs and lows quite seasonable for this time of year with elevated winds today.
