At 5 am, a line of strong to severe thunderstorms have begun to move into the extreme northwestern parts of Alabama, where a Tornado Warning was just canceled for Colbert and Franklin counties and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was just issued for Colbert, Franklin, and Lauderdale counties. The rest of Central Alabama is quiet at this juncture.

A Tornado Watch continues in effect until 11 am for Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan counties in North Alabama and for Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker, and Winston counties in the northwestern parts of Central Alabama.

A Slight Risk for severe storms continues across nearly all of North/Central Alabama throughout the rest of the day, while a Marginal Risk continues for the southeastern parts of the area, mainly south of the I-85 corridor. Damaging winds up to 60 mph and a few tornadoes remain the main threats.
