DELIGHTFUL FEBRUARY DAY: Temperatures are in the 62-72 degree range across Alabama this afternoon with sunshine in full supply. Tonight will be clear with a low between 28 and 35 degrees.

Dry weather continues over the weekend, but temperatures will be about 10-15 degrees lower after the passage of a clipper; the high tomorrow will be in the 45-55 degree range with a sunny sky. Sunday will be sunny and warmer with highs in the 50s and 60s.
NEXT WEEK: It will be the warmest week so far in 2026 with highs in the 60s and 70s through Thursday. Friday will be a little cooler with a high in the 55-65 degree range. Monday and Tuesday will be dry; we could see a few sprinkles or isolated showers by Wednesday and Thursday. There is considerable model inconsistency in the situation for Friday, but for now will just mention some risk of showers.
The long range pattern/outlook suggests temperatures will remain above average across the Deep South for the next 10-15 days. See the video briefing for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1989: Mammoth traffic jams in the Los Angeles area as freak snow struck California. The snow was reported from the beaches of Malibu to the desert around Palm Springs.
Look for my next video briefing here by 6:00 a.m. Monday… enjoy the weekend!
