RADAR CHECK: Rain is falling across much of South Alabama early this morning, but the northern half of the state is dry. Rain over the southern counties will diminish later this morning, but a few scattered showers or storms will develop there again this afternoon. No rain for North Alabama today; expect a high this afternoon in the 76-82 degree range.

A cold front will pass through the state tomorrow in mostly dry fashion; just a small risk of a shower during the mid to late afternoon. Thursday and Friday will be dry with a good supply of sunshine both days.

THE WEEKEND: Dry weather continues, and heat levels rise. Expect a high Saturday between 87 and 91, and most of Alabama will see a high at or over 90 degrees Sunday… it will be the hottest day so far this year.

Dry weather will continue Monday and Tuesday with low 90s likely. We will bring in the risk of a few scattered showers and thunderstorms over the latter half of the week, but the rain probably won’t be especially widespread. See the video briefing for maps, graphics, and more details.
