I know that a lot of weather enthusiasts follow personnel changes within the weather community, whether that be NWS staff or meteorologists at various media outlets. So it is with some interest that I’ve just learned that Bill Proenza who left the position of Director, Southern Region, to become the Director of the Hurricane Center, will be returning to his old job. Dr. Jack Hayes, Director of the National Weather Service, made that announcement around noon today.
I’m sure there will be more on this in the future including lots of interest in who will become the next Hurricane Center Director.
