Look at all that lightning! Boy!
We are tracking a dangerous tornadic storm near Ackerman, MS right now. A tornado warning is in effect for Choctaw, Clay, Oktibbeha and Winston Counties.
it will pass near or just north of Starkville and to near West Point. By 2:00 or so it will be approaching the western Alabama border counties of Lamar and Marion.
It will be interesting to see if it can hold together. It will cross the warm front that Dr. Tim is talking about, which will give it extra impetus to spin. It will be feeding on dewpoints in the 62-67F range until it crosses into Alabama. Unless that boundary lifts further to the north, the storm will weaken when it enter sAlabama, but as we always say with storms, expect the unexpected.
A tornado watch remains in effect for West Central Alabama until 6 a.m.
