The West Alabama Severe Weather Shield is holding strong so far tonight. Storms crossing from Mississippi tends to lose their tornadic characteristics.
It’s not really a force field, it is just lesser instability, and it may not hold out all night, but we will take what we can get. And remember, severe thunderstorms can be just as damaging as tornadoes.
Up next is the storm showing rotation northwest of DeKalb MS. This potentially tornadic storm is pointing at Pickens County. It should arrive in the county between 2:30 and 2:45. It would pass near or north of Carrollton.
Please be in safe shelter when this storm arrives on your doorstep.
