Well, the protection shield did hold up after all.  Storms made a run at getting into Alabama, but our force field held up.  We were holding our collective breaths when that incredible rotation was roaring across Pickens County.  But no significant damage reports received from Alabama.  Thank goodness.

Rain and thunderstorms covers much of the state along and northwest of the I-59 corridor. The rain and storms were heaviest from Tuscaloosa down to Meridian.

There are several flash flood warnings, a flash flood watch and a tornado watch in effect.

The line of storms is moving east at 20 mph or so and should cross the Birmingham area over the next hour. It will be aligned from Jacksonville to Clanton to Selma line by 7:30 a.m.
