Some parts of extreme South and SE Alabama received some beneficial rain this evening. At 10:40 p.m., that cluster of moderate to heavy rain, including a few thunderstorms, had moved eastward into North Florida and the SE corner of Alabama.

10:00 p.m. actual reports showed heavy rain at Florala and light rain at Greenville, Andalusia and Alexander City. Earlier this evening, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Point Clear.

Meanwhile, over the north and central part of the state, low clouds and fog were beginning to drape the area. Dense fog has lowered the visibility to only 1/4 mile in Gadsden and 1/2 mile in Huntsville. Good idea to allow a little extra time for morning drive.
