Based on surface hourly reports observed at 9 am, CST + buoy reports in the North Gulf, here is a position report on our low pressure area that is giving Alabama widespread rain today.

The low has become elongated north/south and extends from near the mouth of the Mighty Mississippi southward into the Gulf. Some cooler air is flowing into the west and NW side of the low. The projected path toward the east and then curving NE and up the Atlantic Seaboard is still on track with the original forecast.

The last several lows that have been born over the NW Gulf have been very accurately forecast as far as their track has been concerned.
