Thanks to Huel Long for passing along these images… he writes:
“James,
These are from my long time friend, Dave Voots, NK9Q, over in Atlanta who lives near Lake Alatoona. I don’t feel bad about our level here at Logan Martin now. These were shot early this week.

There was a picture of Lake Lanier just northeast of Atlanta that was making the rounds last week. It doesn’t even hold a candle to what poor Lake Alatoona looks like these days (a couple minutes from our house, just northwest of Atlanta). I promised to throw the camera in the car and take some pictures, and I finally remembered this afternoon.
Mostly, the lake looks like this big desert area with a bit of water flowing in the original stream bed. Of special note are pictures _MG_3192 and _MG_3208. The people in 3192 are standing on a rock that is usually 30-35 feet under water. The same people decided to go for a stroll in the lake bed in 3208 and gave it a nice sense of perspective. Oh, and those white pipes in a lot of the pictures? They usually have only a couple feet sticking out of the water. That gives you a sense of how deep the water should be. ”
