Interesting note from a reader this morning:
“James,
GMA reported this morning that when our Govenor called on our state to pray for rain, that it didn’t work and Georgia shouldn’t expect it to work either.
I believe they are wrong. Can you check the dates to find out? I remember that we DID (in B’ham) at least get rain following the Governors week of prayer.
I think that the State of Alabama leaders should correct Good Morning America’s poor reporting and also let them know that the ONLY way ANY of us will EVER get rain is if GOD IN HEAVEN gives it to us.
If you can PLEASE check those dates and rain fall statistics, I would like to be on the list of those who give a public and factual response to Diane Sawyer!
Thank You”
This same reader, while I was Etowah County speaking at a school today, did some research… I received this note this afternoon:
“James,
I actually found out that during the first week of July, through July 7th (which is the week Riley set aside for Prayer) these are the reported rainfall total:
Decatur- July 7 – 1.39, July 10 – .86
Troy – July 3- 2.13 and July 8 – 1.34
Tuscaloosa – July 7 – 1.57 and July 9 – .49
Shelby – July 7 – .81
Anniston – July 7 – .49
Muscle Shoals – July 6 – 3.01 and July 9 .50 and July 10 – 1.34
Huntsville – July 6 – 1.4
Montgomery – July 7 .- 46
B’ham – July 7 .65
These are only a few records, How do I get this information to Diane Sawyer so that she can correct her misinformation?”
FYI… I did pass along the ABC News contact information for our reader. Lets hope someone at the network actually pays attention to this.
