WE ARE ALABAMA: ABC 33/40 is teaming up with the American Red Cross for a three hour telethon tonight to help our “neighbors in need”. We are down, but not out. I encourage you to watch tonight to find out ways you can help our friends who are suffering so much now in so many different places. We will be on the air from 5:00 until 8:00 tonight; many special guests will be joining us. I hope to see you then.
BEAUTIFUL DAY: Today will be a day of blue sky, sunshine, and low humidity. The high will be in the upper 70s with dewpoints remaining in the 40s. Doesn’t get much better.
WARMER WEEKEND: We rise into the low 80s tomorrow, followed by mid 80s Sunday as a warming trend begins. The weekend will be dry, although clouds will begin to increase Sunday afternoon, and a few showers could reach Northwest Alabama late in the day.
NEXT WEEK: A slow moving cold front will bring the next chance of showers and storms, perhaps as early as Sunday night. The front initially will be parallel to the upper air winds, and it becomes stationary. This will keep the chance of rain in the forecast through Tuesday, but a wave of low pressure forming on the front will finally give it a good southward push, and by Tuesday night it moves to the Gulf Coast and drier air returns. For now the chance of severe weather looks minimal with the main upper support well to the north.
The latter of the week looks dry and pleasant with highs mostly in the 70s and lows in the 50s.
