Showers and storms have continued to weaken over North and Central Alabama tonight.

They are moving through parts of the Birmingham area right now.

Can’t really find much lightning now…there is a little east of Tuscaloosa. And more to the south…

To the northwest, some showers continue over Northwest Alabama. That’s a heavy little shower near Eldridge.

The activity is east of I-59 once you get to Tuscaloosa. Storms continue over Bibb, Perry, Hale and Marengo Counties, as well as over southern Sumter County. They are not severe, but are producing heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds. A severe thunderstorm watch continues for Greene and Sumter Counties, but once the storms south of Livingston move into Marengo County…I think the watch may be canceled in Alabama.

Funny….as soon as I sad that…this message from the NWS: BMX cancels Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Greene, Sumter [AL]…

There are severe thunderstorms entering South Alabama’s Choctaw County, but they won’t pose any problems for North Central Alabama as they continue east and southeastward.

This will be the last update of the night unless storms refire.
