Strong thunderstorms are about to enter Northwest Alabama from northeastern Mississippi.

Counties that will be impacted include northern Pickens, Lamar, Marion and Franklin.

These storms have a history of triggering warnings in Mississippi, although the NWS is choosing to go with significant weather alerts for now.

Other storms are entering West Central Alabama’s Sumter, Greene, Hale and Marengo Counties. Significant weather alerts are in effect here as well.
