Thunderstorms were slower about developing across Alabama today as compared to recent days.However, once they got started they multiplied rather quickly.
At 2pm, most of the storms were over the north half of Alabama. Some were strong enough to have the NWS issued Special Weather Statements for East Pickens and Franklin County. That is short of a warning.
Also some strong storms over parts of Tuscaloosa, Walker and Blount County..
Favored direction of movement today seems to be generally toward the south
