Late this afternoon, scattered showers and thunderstorms were in progress in almost all sections of Alabama.

By far the more numerous ones were over South and Southeast Alabama especially from about Montgomery, Troy and Dothan eastward into Georgia. That is where some of the heaviest rain was located.

However, individual storms in other parts of the state were dumping heavy rain including one approaching Birmingham from the east.

A good chance of thunderstorms will be with us tonight and again Saturday. Scattered ones also on Sunday but by Monday, the storms will decrease in number and the old thermometer will go back upward.
