Some definite improvements in our weather are ahead as slightly cooler and certainly drier air moves into Alabama behind a southward moving cold front.

That front was pushing south across the state this afternoon.  It is just inside the Northwest Corner of the state.

Not far behind the front, dewpoint readings fall into the lower 60s fairly quickly, and there is a noticeable northwesterly breeze.

Ahead of the front, there could be an isolated shower or storm, but your chances of seeing one of those is very small.

At 12:45, showers and storms were lined up from Marshall, through parts of Blount, Cullman, northern Jefferson and over into Winston County.

Others were over northern Calhoun County in East Alabama and over Lamar County in West Alabama.  One was poised to enter western Franklin County in Northwest Alabama.
