Very heavy rain now extends from near Tuscaloosa to lake View to Calera. There are also heavy showers in the Trussville area. This activity will keep lifting northeast spreading heavy rain over much of the area from Birmingham back to Fayette and eventually up into Walker County near Jasper over the next hour or so.
Other heavy showers and between Gadsden and Centre.
Flooding not a big concern yet, but will become so later when the big rains arrive from Mississiippi, but very heavy rain in a short time could cause local problems.
Can’t rule out an isolated spin up tornado almost anywhere, as we saw on Sunday, but the main threat is still a little to the southwest where instability is a bit higher…Autauga, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Marengo and Sumter Counties where a tornado watch continues until 7:00 AM CDT.
