Stronger storm cells over East central Mississippi from near Philadelphia to west of Meridian may rotate up into West Alabama’s Sumter, Greene, Pickens, Lamar and Marion Counties in a couple of hours.

They are part of the leading edge of a dense area of rain and storms ahead of the center that is pushing slowly northeast.

They are capable of producing small spin up tornadoes. They have prompted several tornado warnings.

They will also produce torrential rainfall amounts of one to two inches per hour.
