Flood Warning for Village Creek at Avenue W…levels are rising rapidly and will top flood stage shortly.
According to Gary Goggins at the NWS: Flood stage is 10 feet, and based on estimated rainfall that will occur, we are looking at rising to at least 13 feet, and will likely go higher.
Flooding is widespread over western Jefferson County and other parts of central Alabama. We still have three more hours of heavy rain on tap for western Jefferson County.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not try to cross flowing or standing water in the flooding areas. TURN AROUND…DON’T DROWN!
