The strong disturbance that caused the severe weather delay last evening at Norman for the Oklahoma/Texas Tech game has held its own and is pushing across Mississippi right now.

It is approaching the Alabama/Mississippi border just before 12:30 p.m. It will bring showers and some thunder to West Alabama from Livingston northward to the Shoals between now and 1:30 p.m, reach a north/south axis through Fayette by 2:30, Jasper by 3:30 and Birmingham by 4:30.

It should reach Pell City by 6 and Talladega by 7, so the race festivities will be over.

The system should continue to weaken slowly and it may dissipate to just light showers by the time it reaches the eastern half of the state.
