ANOTHER COLD MORNING: Temperatures just before 6:00 this morning include…

Black Creek (northeast of Gadsden in Etowah County) 29 (Vic Bell reports another huge frost)
Coker 32
Concord 32
Fayette 33
Fort Payne 34
Anniston 34
Tuscaloosa 36
Birmingham 38

Temperatures will warm into the mid 60s today with a good supply of sunshine as the beautiful fall weather continues. We stay dry tomorrow and Wednesday, with a high both days near 70.

THURSDAY: A short wave moves through, and will bring a chance of showers to the state. But, moisture is very limited, and rain amounts should be on the light side, generally 1/4″ or less (much like the event this past Friday). No thunder, no heavy rain, no severe weather.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: Looks great. Sunny cool days, clear cold nights. Highs will be in the 65-70 degree range, with morning lows in the 40s. More great weather for high school and college football, a trip for viewing the fall colors, or anything else you want to do. We have had our share of great weekends in recent months for sure.

The dry weather continues into the first part of next week. And, the good news, no sign of any severe weather setups on the 00Z GFS. See the Weather Xtreme video for long range details.

TROPICS: Very quiet… tropical storm formation is not expected through the week.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. We will record this week’s episode tonight at 8:30 p.m. CDT; Mike Brown of Mississippi State will be our guest.
