High pressure remains in control of Alabama’s weather this afternoon. Scattered low clouds worked their way into the area during the morning, while some high clouds worked in from the west.
But the cloudiness did little to block the sunshine. The clouds have mostly moved on to the east now and it is basically clear back to the Mississippi River, where moisture is building on southwesterly winds ahead of the next big storm system coming out of the Southwest.
The clouds and slightly more moist southeasterly flow was holding temperatures back just a little. Average for this time of year is in the upper 60s. Our readings today are just a skotch below average for this time of year, but still quite nice for fall. You can expect partly cloudy skies tonight with lows in the middle and upper 40s.
The weather tomorrow and Tuesday will be nearly ideal, with a good supply of sunshine both days and highs in the lows 70s generally. A few spots may hit the middle 70s. Overnight lows will be in the lower 50s tomorrow night.
