Clouds have hung tough across much of the state on this fall Saturday afternoon.  You can attribute it to a gentle lift of relatively moist air in the southeasterly flow around high pressure centered northeast of the North Carolina coast this afternoon.

Sunshine has been a rare commodity, but temperatures still managed to reach 70F at Tuscaloosa, 68F at the Birmingham Airport and 66F at Anniston.

At sunset, the only sunshine was over Northwest and West Central Alabama.  There was a little sun at Fayette and more sun than clouds at Hamilton as the sundown.

There actually were a few very light showers this afternoon.  Some mist was noticed in Tuscaloosa late in the game.  Radars were clear at 5 p.m. however.

The clearing may grudgingly work a little further eastward, but more low clouds should form overnight.

Lows tonight will only drop into the middle and upper 50s.
