The severe storms over Marshall, Etowah, Cherokee and Calhoun Counties are pushing southeast.

They could reach the northeastern parts of the Birmingham metro by 10:30 p.m.

The airmass over the Birmingham metro area is still pristine as it has not been worked over by earlier storms, so the storms could hold together.

The storms are capable of producing 60 mph winds. They have downed trees over Northeast Alabama.

Quarter sized hail is possible as well.
