The radar is really starting to light up across Central Alabama this afternoon.

Storms are most numerous in about a 75 mile wide corridor from west of Marion County down into Pickens County Alabama eastward through the Birmingham Metro over to the eastern side of the state from Cherokee County down to Randolph County.

Storms were growing in coverage and intensity. Everything is moving east.

There is a chance some of them will become severe this afternoon, producing damaging wind gusts. They will also produce torrential rains and deadly lightning.
