It is a rainy stormy night across much of Alabama. Strong and locally severe storms are ongoing across North Central Alabama. Storms are approaching the Birmingham metro now with heavy rains and gusty winds. May be seeing some small hail mix in. More thunderstorms crossing the state line with Mississippi and these storms are pretty intense and have had a history of producing large hail and gusty winds. Heavier thunderstorm activity is ongoing southeast of Birmingham too. The threat of severe weather continues across Alabama and the Southeast tonight. The main threats will continue to be large hail, damaging winds and the possibility of flooding. Warm front remains along the Gulf Coast, but if it does begin to lift north, we could see an elevated chance for tornadoes overnight. It will be a long night for all us weather watchers across the state.
