This morning’s showers and thunderstorms have pushed east over into Georgia. Off to our west, additional showers and thunderstorms are developing and making their way into Alabama. None of these storms are currently severe, and they are not expected to reach severe limits. Gusty winds, small hail, torrential rains and dangerous lightning are likely with any storms today.

Some storms could briefly reach severe limits, but organized and widespread severe weather is not expected. Showers and thunderstorms will continue through the day and should last into the overnight hours. Storms should begin to settle down once a cold front that is dropping south and east moves through the state, clearing out all this convective activity.
