Strong non-severe storms are currently impacting some of our western counties. Areas of Lamar, Fayette, Walker, Hale, Pickens and Tuscaloosa Counties are seeing some gusty winds, heavy rain and possibly some hail. Over the last few hours a complex of thunderstorms has been moving into West Alabama from Mississippi.
These storms remain below severe limits, but at any time could briefly reach severe limits. Damaging winds will be the main concern across our part of the state. We have seen a a few tornado warnings in portions of the Tennessee Valley. These storms will continue to push east over the next few hours and should begin to wind down once the sunsets and daytime heating is lost.
