A new notes this morning concerning Twitter and Facebook….
TWITTER: I have handed off the “abc3340” Twitter account to Jeff Wyatt and the web team at the station so they can push news updates to all of those followers. If you want to keep up with me, my personal account is simply “spann”. Go here to follow me if interested.
To get news updates from ABC 33/40 on Twitter, go here.
Since I am off the station account now, I will follow everyone who follows me. It will make a nice little community. Give it a shot.
If you have not used Twitter, is is a fascinating little web application that allows you to send short messages (140 characters of less) to those who “follow you”. There are many very interesting people to follow, and most media outlets are using Twitter now to push news and weather. You can receive Twitter messages (tweets) via the web, text messaging on your cell phone, or IM (although that feature is disabled for the moment).
FACEBOOK: This is the wildly popular “web 2.0” social network site; just search “James Spann”… I accept any friend invitation. Just another way to keep in touch.
Twitter and Facebook have become an integral part of the web, and we are there!
