PLEASANT NOVEMBER AFTERNOON: Nice shot here from Alabama Highway 25 between Leeds and Dunnavant earlier today, as the fall colors are really showing off…

Temperatures are generally in the 60s with a partly to mostly sunny sky.

COLD FRONT ON THE WAY: Our weather will stay dry during the day tomorrow, with a mix of sun and clouds along with a high at or just over 70 degrees. Still looks like the showers will hold off for our part of the state until after midnight tomorrow night. The main window for rain will come from about 2:00 until 8:00 a.m. Thursday; the main dynamic support will stay well north of Alabama, so no severe weather, and probably no thunder. Rain amounts could be light; generally under 1/4 inch for most of the state.

The sky becomes partly sunny during the day Thursday, and the weather will be colder with a high around 60 along with a chilly north breeze. By Friday morning most communities will reach the mid to upper 30s. And, Friday looks fantastic with blue sky, sunshine, and a high in the low 60s.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Dry, cool weather is the story with partly to mostly sunny days and fair nights. Highs will hold in the 60s, with lows in the 40s.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: For the first round of the high school football playoffs Friday night, the sky will be clear with temperatures falling from the mid 50s at kickoff into the 40s by the second half of the games. Great night for football.

Alabama hosts LSU Saturday night in Tuscaloosa (7:00p CT kickoff); the sky will be clear with a kickoff temperature near 55 degrees, falling into the 40s during the second half. Auburn travels to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers (11:00 a.m. CT kickoff)… the sky will be mostly sunny with temperatures rising from 56 at kickoff to near 61 degrees by the final whistle.

UAB is on the road; they play at Marshall Saturday in Huntingdon, West Virginia; the sky will be sunny with 52 degrees at kickoff, and 57 degrees by the end of the game. Doesn’t get much better for a November Saturday.

NEXT WEEK: We stay dry Monday and Tuesday; still looks like showers will return by Thursday, but the GFS is backing off from the idea of strong storms, and showing a weaker system with just a band of showers. See the Weather Xtreme video for the maps, graphics, and details.
