SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK
The Storm Prediction Center continues a slight risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight from Ohio and Pennsylvania north eastward into New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and almost all of Maine. A separate slight risk area covers most of the interior of Washington state and Central Oregon. For July 4 (tomorrow), the only slight risk currently posted is for the northern panhandle of Idaho and the west half of Montana. Interestingly, that slight risk includes good old Rogers Pass, Montana where the coldest temperature ever recorded in the USA occurred in late January 1954–a bitter 70 below zero. I still have to write a story about my visit to that impossible to reach site several months later.
