**We are on a holiday schedule, so just one Weather Xtreme video per day. I will crank it out later today with I get into the office at ABC 33/40**

HAPPY THANKSGIVING: On this day when we gather together to celebrate our blessings, we start with record cold. Here are some temperatures just before sun-up:

Broomtown (Cherokee County) 15
Black Creek (just northeast of Gadsden) 15
Haleyville 16
Valley Head 16
Fayette 16
Decatur 17
Fort Payne 18
Chelsea 21
Tuscaloosa 22
Anniston 22

The lowest so far at Birmingham (B’ham-Shuttlesworth Airport) is 19, that beats the old record low of 20 degrees for November 28 set in 1950.

THE DAYS AHEAD: The good news is that we begin to dig out of the deep freeze later today with a brilliantly sunny sky and light wind, we reach the mid 40s. For shoppers tomorrow, we start the day in the mid 20s, but warm into the mid 50s by afternoon with a good supply of sunshine.

For the weekend, we project highs in the upper 50s Saturday and Sunday. The sky will stay mostly sunny Saturday… a few scattered clouds show up Sunday.

IRON BOWL FORECAST: Fantastic day for the biggest football game of the year in Alabama. A sunny sky Saturday in Auburn; temperature at kickoff (2:30p CT) at Jordan-Hare Stadium near 57 degrees, falling into the low 50s by the final whistle with a SE wind of 5-10 mph.

NEXT WEEK: A disturbance should bring a little rain to the state Monday, but amounts should be light. And, temperatures should be close to average for early December with highs in the 57-60 degree range.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
