A few storms have developed this afternoon over the northern half of Alabama.

The strongest ones are in the northeast part of the state south of Fort Payne and Scottsboro.

A new storm has developed quickly over Central Shelby County east of Pelham.

Others are lined up across Walker, Winston and into Franklin County. Another is forming quickly west of Concord in western Jefferson County.

This activity is pushing southeast.

Look for lots of gusty winds, lightning and brief heavy rain.
