Scroll down for the latest information on Debby.
Here is an Alabama update as of 1 p.m.:
Thick clouds and rain are over Southeast Alabama this afternoon thanks to Tropical Storm Debby in the Gulf of Mexico. Further north, a decent amount of cumulus clouds have formed in the I-20/59 corridor over Central Alabama. Those are along the northern fringe of the tropical system.
It is not out of the question that we could see a couple of widely scattered showers or storms in the area from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham to Anniston this afternoon.
Temperatures are climbing into the middle 90s. we don’t know how hot it is in Tuscaloosa officially, since we don’t have any reports from the airport since this morning. Our Tuscaloosa skycam is reporting 93F. It was 102F in Tuscaloosa yesterday, a record for the date. It won’t be quite as hot across Central Alabama this afternoon thanks to the increased cloudiness.
