Almost all of the showers and storms gone from Alabama.
At 8:40 am, there was a small group of moderate to heavy showers over the East Central edge of the state, over South Randolph and North Chambers County between Roanoke and Lafayette. Those respresented the west edge of a larger group of showers and storms that extended well into North Central Georgia. Moving eastward.
There is a real bite in the air over North and West Alabama as the much colder air continues to roll in. It was 43 in Dectur with NW winds up to 23 mph. Tuscaloosa had 46, Birmingham 48. It was still a relatively mild 64 in Montgomery and Auburn, 60 in Anniston and 63 in Alexander City.
