Showers and thunderstorms were developing this afternoon in the ocean of heat and humidity that covers Alabama like a wet blanket.

Most of the showers and storms were along the Mississippi/Alabama border and across the Tennessee Valley. The more significant lightning was near the Tennessee-Alabama border.

The showers and storms were moving almost due east. Others will be forming as the afternoon goes on..
