At mid-morning, the cold front was pushing into Kentucky, West Tennessee, North Louisiana and North Texas.

It has passed Memphis, Little Rock, Pine Bluff and Shreveport but not Tupelo.

Moving steadily toward the south and SE.

At 8 am, CST, it was 17 below zero at Rolla Ndawn, in NE North Dakota with a wind chill of 38 below. The low in Williston, North Dakota was 22 below.

The temperature has dropped to 19 in the NE corner of Oklahoma. It was 15 in St. Louis and 10 in Kansas City.

The sea-level pressure was up to 30.84 inches in Omaha. (Translation: This is a very strong high pressure system pushing this cold air southward.

Over in the Great Smoky Mountains, there is a good chance of some accumulating snow from snow showers today, including Gatlinburg. However, no major event. Lows tonight will be between 5 and 15 with the old wind chill dropping below zero at times.

This is Autumn in the South! Winter still officially two weeks away!
