A severe thunderstorm is moving through the Tuscaloosa and Northport areas right now.
We noticed what may have been a couple of power flashes from the Skycam in downtown Tuscaloosa…looking to the north. This could be associated with straight line winds or a small tornado.
A tornado warning is in effect for Tuscaloosa Coutny…including the cities of Tuscaloosa and Northport. Areas east of Tuscaloosa from Cottondale to Coaling, Peters, Brookwood and Vance will be affected by this possible tornado. Much of eastern Tuscaloosa County into western Jefferson County will be affected by damaging winds as well.
