A magnitude 6.9 earthquake occurred in Northern Mexico within the past hour; it was felt widely in San Diego and Los Angeles. I was watching Leo Laporte’s “This Week In Tech” live stream when a panelist from Los Angeles reported the quake during the show.

The quake hit at 5:40 p.m. CDT and was centered about 108 east-southeast of Tijuana, Mexico, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Here is the latest from the USGS.
