With the well-defined circulation of Alberto moving through Central Alabama, there have been numerous reports of trees down across the area due to the gusty winds and recent rains that have loosened tree root structures.

Shelby County is reporting trees down across the county. So is Montgomery County. The peak wind gust at Montgomery was 43 mph.

Here are the latest wind reports:

There was a tree down on 119 in Pelham. Mountain Brook PD reports a tree down across one lane of Mountain Brook Parkway in front of the Old Mill.

Be careful today for falling trees. A Spartanburg area newscaster and his photojournalist were killed in Polk County, South Carolina when a tree fell on their news vehicle yesterday. WYFF News 4 anchor Mike McCormick and photojournalist Aaron Smeltzer died on US-176 in the North Carolina Mountains, covering the weather.

Flooding is a threat in the heavy rain areas as well. Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 a.m. for parts of Chilton, Tuscaloosa, Perry, Greene, Hale and Bibb Counties. Flash flood watches cover much of the area.

Here is the radar:

3.05 inches of rain has fallen in West Blocton in Bibb County.
