The clouds are winning across North and Central Alabama so far on this Saturday. In fact, it looks sort of like it does here in San Francisco, where we are waiting on a delayed flight home right now.

Temperatures are Central Alabama are in the upper 70s to lower 80s at this hour, lower than one would expect on a July afternoon.

So far, showers and storms have been limited to southern sections of the state, in the vicinity of an upper low and surface trough. Clouds have limited convective development over northern and central sections of the state so far. But a few showers and storms will probably form across Central Alabama as well as we go through the afternoon. Highs will top out in the lower 80s on average.

Storms will become even more scarce and the mercury will be heating up across the area starting tomorrow and especially next week.
