TROPICS: A gale-force, non-tropical low pressure area located a few hundred miles south of Bermuda is producing disorganized convection to the north and east of its center. Environmental conditions could allow this system to gradually acquire some subtropical characteristics during the next couple of days or so while it moves slowly eastward over the western and central subtropical Atlantic. By late this weekend, upper-level winds are forecast to become unfavorable for further development of this system. The chance of development is 40 percent.

No tropical storms are expected near the Gulf or the U.S. for at least the next 7-10 days.
