Some of the driest air I have noticed in a long time over the cooking SW USA late this afternoon. Check these items at 5 pm, MDT:
* Moab, Utah, temperture 104, dew point +1, humidity 1% (yes, 1%!)
* Bryce Canyon, Utah, 87 degrees, dew point -2, humidity 3%
* Grand Canyon Airport (Ariz.) temperature 93, dew point zero, humidity 3%
* Grand Junction, Colo., temperature 102, dew point +1, wind NW 20
* Las Vegas, temperature 109, dew point -2, humidity 2%, wind gusts 24 mph
* Bullhead City, Ariz., reporting 115 degrees
* Palm Springs 114
Take it from me, that can make your throat feel like leather in no time flat.
Places like Apache Junction and other parts of the Arizona Desert expecting highs of 115-120 degrees during the next few days.
