Tuscaloosa reached 100F at 1 p.m. this afternoon, marking the first official 100 degree reading of the season for any of our Central Alabama reporting stations.
Skies are partly cloudy, with just puffy cumulus clouds. A few showers had formed south of Anniston along the tail end of a dying stationary front. Any storms will be between Anniston and Alex City and points south this afternoon.
Temperatures are in the middle 90s in the I-20 corridor.
The first advisories will probably be issued on Tropical Storm Debby at 4 p.m. and tropical watches and warnings will be required along a portion of the Gulf Coast. There is a great deal of uncertainty in the eventual track of the storm.
Could this be what Debby looks like Wednesday afternoon?
That’s what the GEM (Canadian) model thinks. If it were to materialize, it would bring big changes to our forecast and a much bigger impact to the Gulf Coast. Stay tuned.
