Flash flood warning for parts of Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker and Winston Counties.
Widespread 1.5 to 2.5 inch rainfall amounts have fallen tonight with a large area of over 3 inches.
Flooding is very possible in these areas especially with additional heavy rain and storm expected to move across the warned area in the next couple of hours.
TORNADO WATCH FOR NORTH ALABAMA SOON?
The SPC is worried about the gradually destabilizing airmass and strong wind fields from Florence to Jasper to Fort Payne and points north into southern Tennessee and warns that a new tornado watch may be required soon.
